STEFANO BORELLA LAUNCHES HIS NEW BRAND. MEN’S SHOES OF EXCELLENT QUALITY. CLASSICS BUT OF UNIQUE STYLE
Stefano Borella could claim with complete justification to have grown up in the world of footwear. He began working in a shoe factory in Vigevano as soon as he left secondary school, attended the Ars Sutoria School and collaborated for 6 years with the Pi-Zeta studio. Then the progress to big names in fashion. He worked with Andrea Pfister, designer for the stars of the ‘80s, completing his training and acquiring experience in constructing models, heels, soles, trimmings. Then back to Vigevano to make models for Nina Ricci, Givenchy, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin. In 2003 he moved to Switzerland and began working for Bally where he was responsible for development of women’s footwear. After working for some of the greatest names in fashion, in 2005 he decided to open his own design studio called “Shoes in Style” that today serves leaders in the footwear sector such as Italo Colombo, Arkté, Sultana, Fratelli Rossetti, Sala, Dacci, Nebuloni, Moschillo….. Now Stefano Borella has decided to realize his own dream also: a line of footwear that carries his name. Hence the birth of a brand of men’s and women’s shoes in the luxury niche segment. «These models – he explains – are characterized by the extreme care taken over every last detail. They are hand-made in Italy, of traditional designs reinvented thanks to the incredible finishes. The leathers (French calf in particular) are treated and dyed by hand also. Ours are not standard classics». The Stefano Borella label will be distributed at the start in South Africa, Indonesia, India and, in future, on the Chinese market. «We want to acquire the most important international fashion stores although – the designer wishes to emphasize – the main objective of the Stefano Borella collection does not lie in numbers but rather in creating a product of great style and quality».
